Krups coffee makers are generally very reliable and their newest product, KM7000, which is an automatic grind and brew coffee maker, does not disappoint. It is available in black with stainless steel and comes with many features that help it made great fresh coffee and it is very easy to use.

The KM7000 is an automatic 10 cup coffee maker with a conical burr grinder. The burrs are solid steel and turn slowly and grind thoroughly to extract all the flavor of the whole coffee beans. Depending on your preference you can select five different levels of grind and three different strengths of coffee. You can select and brew anywhere form 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 cups of coffee without sacrificing flavor for the smaller amounts. The grinder automatically grinds only enough beans for selected number of cups. The Krups coffee makers do have a pause and serve function so you can enjoy your first cup of coffee without waiting for the entire pot to finish brewing.

The lighted LCD clock has a programmable timer which is easy to use. Also this is where you have all the setting and indicators like the on/off button, aroma selector, adjustment of the strength of the coffee, adjustment of hours and programming of hours, activation of programmed start-up, selector for the number of cups, water filter check, adjustment of minutes and programming of minutes, and programming the start-up time.

Also, make sure to get the ““Duo Filter”. This filter is anti-chlorine and anti-scale and is a great feature. The filter is made of non-polluting activated carbon of plant origin and anti-scale resin and contains silver salts. Since most tap water does have chlorine this removes that taste. The anti-scale part helps prevent minerals in the tap water from collecting on the heating elements and in the hot water tubes. Scale, if not removed, can sometimes slow the performance of the coffee maker. The filter will need to be changed approximately every 70 cycles which the KM700 will alert you to.

It is very quiet even when it is grinding as result of the burr type grinder. You will wake up to the aroma of coffee rather than the noise of grinding. The design is sleek and goes well with a modern kitchen. The programming, although sounds extensive, is surprising easy. The ground coffee goes directly from the grinder to the filter basket so nothing falls through into the water reservoir. Clean up is also very easy. The filter holder is fully removable and the plastic that puts the grounds into the filter basket also comes out. The construction is such that the coffee beans to not get exposed to moisture so they keep fresh longer. The water temperature is high enough and the good strong, spray of the grinds make for very good coffee.
